Looks for Less
Have you ever fallen in love with an item of clothing or an accessory slightly out of your price range, then proceeded to spend hours trawling the Internet for something similar? Yeah, same. Don't spend hours going down the online shopping rabbit hole, let us do the hard work for you. We've put together some of our favourite high-end styles and their affordable doppelgängers so you can decide whether to splurge or not to splurge.
Tom Ford FT0884 & Reality Eyewear Tomorrowland
Aviators with tinted lenses are having a huge moment, and we're here for it. With both styles sporting a similarly coloured frame and light, warm lenses, the most obvious difference in appearance would be their size; the FT0884 sunglasses have a deeper lens that offers more coverage than the Reality Tomorrowland style. While the Tom Fords are beautifully crafted, the thought of oversized aviators would have most of us second-guessing if we could pull it off. Unless you know that is a style you can pull off with ease, the Tomorrowland's are a great alternative being a shorter frame with the same on-trend colouring as the Tom Fords.
Ray-Ban Round Metal & Carve Heidi
Nobody does a pair of round metal sunglasses quite like Ray-Ban, however, there are more affordable alternatives that look just as good. The Round Metal RB3447 sunglasses are a classic style loved by many for their versatile and polished look, but if you're looking for something similar and at a fraction of the price, Carve has just released a similar style called Heidi. Both styles feature a green lens and chic gold metal frame, you might only feel the difference if you were to hold both sunglasses in your hands as the Ray-Ban features a high-quality glass lens that feels slightly heavier than the Carve.
Versace VE4376B & Le Specs Major!
If you're after something bold and eye-catching, Versace ticks all the boxes. Their edgy frames are the perfect accessory to make a statement, but they're not always in everyone's price range. If you love the look of the Versace VE4376B, you'll love the Major! sunglasses by Le Specs. Serving major attitude through an on-trend geometric shape, the Major! sunglasses are the next best thing to the VE4376B, only missing the signature Versace Medusa adorned on the temple.
Chimi 06 & ROC Hibiscus
I think just about everyone in the Just Sunnies office has a pair of chunky cat-eye sunglasses like the Chimi 06 and the ROC Hibiscus. Lucky for those who love a cat-eye, there are plenty of variations of the popular sunglass shape to choose from. We love the look and feel of the Chimi 06 sunglasses; created by a Scandinavian brand, we expect nothing less than being perfectly understated and refined. However, if the Chimi 06 can't win you over through their array of on-trend colours, we love the Hibiscus sunglasses by ROC as a cheaper alternative.
Karen Walker Helter Skelter & Carve Frankie
Karen Walker and Carve have tapped into the ultimate frame colour combination - brown and gold. The Helter Skelter sunglasses by Karen Walker feature an eye-catching light brown frame completed by gold detailing, making them a chic everyday alternative to standard black frames. Karen Walker's sunglass quality is second to none, but if you can't justify the price, we've found an affordable alternative; the Frankie sunglasses by Carve shares plenty of similarities to the Helter Skelter.
Prada PR17WS & Le Specs Grass Half Full
Perhaps the most sought-out style this year and last, the Prada PR17WS continue to sell out time and time again, making them a tricky style to obtain if you're not quick. Lucky for those who love the shape but can't seem to bag them in time, the Grass Half Full sunglasses by Le Specs are almost identical except for the frame material and temple detailing. The Grass Half Full is an eco-friendly style that is a part of Le Specs' Le Sustain collection with a matte feel due to its recyclable frame material. If you're after the Prada PR17WS look but worried about keeping them in tip-top condition, the Grass Half Full may be the perfect pair for you.
