Sunglasses the Cast of Euphoria Would Wear
Season two of HBO's Euphoria has finally aired which means the internet is once again in a frenzy discussing the show's iconic fashion moments and otherworldly makeup looks. With character Maddy Perez's New Year's Eve outfit in episode one kicking off the year's most sought-after outfit, it's clear that the carefully curated wardrobe of the Euphoria cast members has immense power to influence today's fashion. With many of us turning to season two's edgy looks for our next outfit splurge (guilty), we've put together sunglass styles we think the cast of Euphoria would wear so you can steal their look.
Maddy Perez
Perhaps the most fashionable character on the show, Maddy Perez played by Alexa Demie, has major main character energy with a wardrobe to match. Her style is a mix of contemporary and Y2K, blended with vintage and high-end pieces from independent designers, which is what makes Maddy's looks so playful. Her poolside appearance on episode two wearing a pair of vintage Jean Paul Gaultier sunglasses sent viewers abuzz searching the web to copy her look; unfortunately, the retro-style sunglasses are no longer available. You can steal Maddy's look with the Reality Eyewear Orbital sunglasses which feature a similar oval shape and blue-tinted lenses.
Cassie Howard
Stealing the spotlight through her Emmy-worthy meltdowns, Cassie's evolving style is a significant factor in her character development this season. Adopting Maddy's look (for all the wrong reasons), Cassie, played by Sydney Sweeney, also shares a love for Y2K style with a softer look than her BFF, Maddy. Cassie's very curated wardrobe alludes to her character's innocent demeanour as she often opts for light blue and pink pieces with a feminine feel. In the same scene above, Cassie lays poolside with Maddy wearing a light pink bikini to match her pink-tinted rectangular shades that have a very early 2000's feel. Get Cassie's look with the Reality Eyewear Faster Love sunglasses with a heart diamante feature to complement her signature diamond-adorned makeup.
Rue Bennett
The protagonist of the show who struggles with sobriety throughout series one and two, Rue Bennett, played by Zendaya, has a carefree sense of style that reflects her character's defiant nature. Dressed for comfort over style, Rue has an androgynous look that breaks the barrier between men's and women's clothing. With her turbulent lifestyle showcased throughout the show, Rue is spotted wearing oversized sunglasses that diverts attention away from her self-destructive behaviour. As someone who prefers to remain in the background, it makes sense that Rue opts for oversized black sunglasses for comfort. We think Rue would go for a unisex style like the Chimi 4L sunglasses that offers just the right amount of coverage while remaining fashionable.
Jules Vaughn
Known for her whimsical style and otherwordly look, Jules, played by Hunter Schafer, continues to serve avant-garde looks that work effortlessly for her character. Not one to be afraid of mismatching textiles and layering, Jules's style matches her free-spirited attitude perfectly. As Jules's aesthetic is a mix of fantasy e-girl with an 80s daydream feel, we think Jules would gravitate towards a pair of eccentric sunglasses that exemplify her cool-girl persona. We can see Jules wearing the Epokhe Trinity sunglasses, which play on the very-much-in sci-fi wraparound trend.
Nate Jacobs
Unlike his other fashionable cast members, Nate, who is played by Jacob Elordi, isn't known for his out-there sense of style. Instead, he dresses casually and simplistically, which coincides with his elusive, dark personality. Nate's sense of style is typical of an American high school jock whose effort doesn't surpass a t-shirt, jeans and low-top sneakers. For this reason, we think Nate would go for a more classic style that maintains an element of coolness. We could see Nate wearing the Ray-Ban New Wayfarer sunglasses, which complements his perplexing demeanour a little too well.
Lexi Howard
Lexi, who is played by Maude Apatow, is one of the most underrated characters on the show who we can all agree needs more air time (plus we want to see more Fez and Lexi). While not the most prominent figure in the show, her understated sense of style and relatable personality keeps the audience captivated. Unlike her friends, Lexi is the type who likes to stay in the shadows, but that's not to say her style is any less interesting than her fashionable cast members. Lexi's sense of style is classic and feminine as she frequently dresses in vintage-looking dresses and tailored pants paired with statement-collar tops. For a pair of sunglasses that have a vintage feel while remaining on-trend, we could see Lexi wearing the Le Specs Work It! sunglasses in the tortoiseshell colourway - a chic 90s oval pair with unmatched sophistication.
Kat Hernandez
Played by Barbie Ferreria, Kat Hernandez, more than any other character, has had the most dramatic fashion evolution throughout the show. Finding a sense of self was a strong focal point in Kat's character development in season one. We saw her quiet and insecure character flourish into a sassy and all-commanding personality as she found a new sense of confidence through her dominatrix alter-ego. Her new outlook on life was reflected through her choice of clothing, where she embraced her body and let her clothes show off her very best assets. Rocking small independent designers with a gothic element to her look, Kat would go for a dramatic pair of small cat-eye shades to compliment her unique style. We can see Kat wearing the Valley Dayze sunglasses, a sharp cat-eye style that reflects the brand's signature glam-goth style.
Fezco
The Internet's latest crush, Fez, played by Angus Cloud, is the resident drug dealer and close friend of the show's protagonist, Rue. His too cool for school demeanour and laidback personality is reflected through his signature streetwear style, comprised of vintage pieces like 90s Coogee sweaters and skate brands like Supreme and Palace. Not afraid to accessorise, Fez is frequently spotted with gold chains to compliment his underground sense of style, which is why we can see Fez wearing the Versace VE4361 sunglasses, a nod to hip-hop icon Biggie Smalls. The VE4361's have an opulent gold Medusa feature on the temple completed by an on-trend geometric shape.
